Her first book “Brick Lane” was a literary sensation, with the less successful works that followed came the big low. Twenty years after her debut, Monica Ali, 54, is touring again. Her new book is called “Love Marriage”. For the interview, she comes to a hotel in Munich’s Lehel, the British woman teases the tea bag, which she has to brew herself, in between she swears, very un-British, and laughs out loud. A conversation about a lack of self-confidence and career-endangering clichés.
