The woman who wrote national sports history is coming to Cologne city center on her motorbike for an interview. Nadine Apetz was the first German boxer to win a medal at a world championship in 2016, and she competed at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Apetz was considered a medal hope, but dropped out in the first round. Apetz, 36, caused a stir because, in addition to preparing for the Olympics, she wrote her doctoral thesis in a subject that is not immediately associated with boxing: neuroscience. Apetz peels off the leather jacket, she doesn’t need a long warm-up phase.
